What I’m working on…
My problem is not a lack of ideas, I have a notebook stuffed with them, it’s deciding what to write next. A lot of people grew to love the characters in my Liberty Sands trilogy and have asked if I will be writing any more books about them. The simple answer to that, for the moment at least, is no. I like the idea that some of the loose ends were not tied up at the end of the trilogy allowing people to reach their own conclusions as to what happens next for Holly and co. I’m not saying ‘never’ but it is unlikely at this stage.
However, there will be a prequel to the trilogy at some point.
Rosemary was a much-loved character who only featured in Life’s a Beach and Then… (for obvious reasons if you have read it) and as soon as I had finished writing that book I knew I wanted to write about her life before she met her beloved husband, Robert. I have sketched an outline to her story but feel I would like to experiment with some new characters first so ‘And 5,6,7,8…‘ won’t be for a while.
I am currently working on two books consecutively. The first is almost finished and is scheduled for release in April 2017. It is set in the 1970’s in the West End of London and features a young dancer from the provinces called Alice who dreams of seeing her name up in lights. There is some romance but it also focuses on the seedier side of show business. I will be revealing the cover on my blog next month when the book will be available for pre-order.
The other book has the working title, Pumpkin, and I’m planning to release it in October 2017. Pumpkin is an orange tabby cat and the book is probably best described as cosy crime. I’m looking to make this novella length at somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 words. I’ll keep you posted.
